Our Complete guide to safety of battery and coil

Equipment safety is one of the biggest headlines in the vaping industry. Many of the experienced vapers already know how to use batteries along with the multiple mods safely. But for those who are new to the vaping world, battery safety must be made a priority. Vape shops are advised to ensure that their customers are thoroughly informed about proper battery safety.

Sadly, whenever something untoward happens to a vaper who did not handle their equipment correctly, it is usually broadcasted all over the media. Research studies are trying to put more positives about the vaping. So the media is insisting on searching for new ways to portray the negative view; currently the negative is e-cigarette batteries are exploding.

Truth is hardly a few battery accidents have occurred if you compare it to the number of battery-operated products that are out there. You will find that in almost all those cases, incidents occurred due to to unregulated equipment, which must not be used by the person who is not competent in ohms law and where the risk involved. So far, whenever an incident occurs, it spreads like wildfire and it makes people assume that vaping is a dangerous hobby.

Vape Fanaticz is here to assure you that handling, storage, and maintenance of your vape devices in the right and prescribed way eliminates the chance of anything occurring that could put you or the people around you at risk. It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced sub –ohmer with multiple mods, or a vaping convert with a starter kit, kindly make sure to follow proper battery safety!

We strongly recommend that a battery cover or holder is used when transporting loose batteries to inhibit them from touching each other, or other, metallic items.

To avoid venting, please check the batteries are inserted the correct way. Even though your mod device has reverse polarity protection, still make sure that the cells do not go in backward.

While charging your battery, regularly check to see if it has finished. Remove the charger as soon as charging is complete. And always remember that the fireproof surface is the safest place to charge on. And remember, never leave it unattended or for charging overnight.

Please stay vigilant and ensure that the battery contained chemicals must not be exposed to extreme temperature, keep it at room temperature only – and yes, keep it away from fire! Additionally, do regular checks for damage / denting and never use if you see any.

Special care and precautions must be taken while working with rechargeable lithium-Ion cells. Kindly check if you have sufficient knowledge of Li-Ion batteries in charging, discharging, and assembly before use.

If you wish that your Li-Ion battery lasts longer, then do not let it to run out completely. Unlike nickel-based cells, the Li-Ion batteries do not need to be discharged all the way to prolong their life. Instead, we suggest you develop a habit of charging it even before the low battery indicator shows on your mod.

The life of the battery can also be extended by keeping it above 2.5V. If you let battery level drop below 2.0V, it leads to the metal being plated inside the battery, which can cause a short circuit, or even possibly bursting. Kindly remember that it is the resting voltage, not the voltage 'under load' that the battery drops to when used.

If, for some reason, your battery discharges to below 2.0V, you must immediately plug it to charging at the slowest rate your charger will allow. The time it exceeds 3.0V, then you can switch back to the standard charging rate.

If you keep your battery charging constantly at 2.0V, chances are it is already damaged, and now charging it or using it may lead to a short circuit.

We advise you to keep the cell at room temperature to cool when you remove it from your mod before trying to charge it. Additionally, we strongly advise against using a trickle charger with this type of battery as the consistent holding of the battery at trickle charger voltage will damage it.

Please make sure that all the devices that need rechargeable Lithium Ion IMR batteries must have an amp limit of 20A or higher. Using any other kind of batteries can be potentially hazardous.

If you notice that the mod is giving you battery alerts earlier than before, it does not hit as hard, or you see that it gets warmer when you are using it, then it’s probably time to replace the cell. We are happy to check battery levels to make sure that they are in a condition to use or not. We will surely dispose of them safely for you. Please never put a battery in the bin!

Rebuildables are for experts and have their own risks. An average or beginner vaper, with no multimeter or knowledge of how to or when a meter must be used, or how electronic devices work, are strictly advised not to use it. Inexperienced or those without basic knowledge of electronics cannot safely use these materials.

It is because of a number of reasons:

  1. A rebuildable coil/wick must be tested carefully with a meter before being allowed to use.
  2. It is entirely a user's risk for using it without testing.
  3. Electronic devices can burst while using faulty wicks/coils.
  4. A new coil/wick unit is permitted to be used after testing but first on a reliable basic mod that has short circuit protection or better still a testing rig.
  5. No new coil/wick assembly is permitted to be used on an electronic device till the time it is known to be safe.
  6. If faulty, these items can destroy electronic devices. It is a known issue.

Those who are experienced users can only be permitted to use the sub-ohm tanks and sub-ohm resistance coils. A sub-ohm tank must be used while exercising extra safety precautions. It is found to be working only on a mechanical or regulated mod capable of firing sub-ohm atomizer and coils.

For example, your mod can not fire an atomizer lower than 0.2 ohms, if you have a 0.2-ohm coil. It is your responsibility to ensure that your batteries can handle sub ohm atomizer and coils. If you are using a regulated mod, see to it that it can handle the amps. Improper use can cause injury and lead to damage. To be safe, we advise you to use the OHMS LAW CALCULATOR, CHECK YOUR AMPS.

For new users, we strongly recommend to use 6mg e-liquid or lower with sub-ohm resistance atomizers. It is so because Sub-ohm atomizer generates a stronger throat hit than a small and standard resistance atomizer. Using Nicotine level above 6mg with this atomizer will usually taste burnt or harsh.

It is in your best interest to have a basic understanding of the kit you are using and know how to care for it properly. We will always be happy to assist you any way we can, and we want to make sure that you know how to make the best use of your vaping equipment.

But please note that we cannot be held liable for damage in case of any modification to the kit we delivered, along with the battery wraps/markings. Also, we cannot be held responsible for any damage due to misuse or mishandling of Li-Ion batteries and chargers.
